Predictive Value of Serum Lipid for Intravenous Immunoglobulin Resistance and Coronary Artery Lesion in Kawasaki Disease

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract Context Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) resistance and coronary artery lesions (CALs) prediction are pivotal topic of interests in Kawasaki disease (KD). However, data on the predictive value lipid profile for both IVIG CALs limited. Purpose To investigate validity KD. Design Prospective cohort study. Setting West China Second University Hospital. Patients 363 KD patients were divided into initial IVIG-resistant group IVIG-responsive group; repeated CAL+ CAL− group. Main Outcome Measures Validity predicting CALs. Results Triglycerides significantly higher whereas total cholesterol (TC), high-densisty lipoprotein (HDL-C), low-density (LDL-C), apolipoprotein A (Apo A) lower subjects, with cut-off values 1.625 mmol/L, 3.255 0.475 1.965 0.665 g/L, yielding sensitivities 52%, 70%, 61%, 50% specificities 68%, 53%, 78%, 71%, 81%, respectively. TC, LDL-C, Apo levels 3.20 1.78 0.605 producing 91%, 57% 55%, 67%, level was group, 0.805 sensitivity 66% specificity 54%. Conclusions Lipid profiles dysregulated suffering Some them, such as LDL-C A, could serve complementary laboratory markers

Predictive factors of resistance to intravenous immunoglobulin and coronary artery lesions in Kawasaki disease

PURPOSE We conducted a study to determine which factors may be useful as predictive markers in identifying Kawasaki disease (KD) patients with a high risk of resistance to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and developing coronary artery lesions (CAL). METHODS We enrolled 287 patients in acute phase of KD at a single center. The demographic, clinical and laboratory data were collected retrospe...

Predictors for intravenous immunoglobulin resistance and coronary artery lesions in Kawasaki disease

BACKGROUND To assess the predictors for intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) resistance and coronary artery lesions (CALs) in Kawasaki disease (KD). METHODS A total of 560 KD patients were reviewed retrospectively, including 410 complete KD (cKD) and 150 incomplete KD (iKD) patients. The laboratory data were compared between the IVIG-resistant and IVIG-responsive groups, as well as between the c...

Predictors of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) Resistance in Children with Kawasaki Disease in Calabria Region, Italy

Background Kawasaki disease (KD) is the second most common childhood vasculitis and one of the main causes of acquired heart disease in children. Recent work focuses on the early diagnostic importance of those risk factors that indicate resistance to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment. The objectives of this study were to identify clinical, laboratory and/or instrumental factors that c...

Factors Predicting Resistance to Intravenous Immunoglobulin and Coronary Complications in Kawasaki Disease: IVIG Resistance in Kawasaki Disease

https://e-kcj.org Downie et al.1) defined intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) resistance in patients with Kawasaki disease (KD) as any patient who receives a second dose of IVIG and had a fever (body temperature [BT] >38.0°C) since finishing the first IVIG dose (2 g/kg). In addition, patients who do not respond to IVIG (BT ≥37.5°C more than 24 hours after the end of IVIG infusion) seem to develop...

Non-Responders to Intravenous Immunoglobulin and Coronary Artery Dilatation in Kawasaki Disease: Predictive Parameters in Korean Children

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES In Kawasaki disease (KD), high dose intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) significantly lowers the coronary complications. However, some patients either do not respond to initial therapy or develop coronary complications. We aimed to identify the predictive factors for unresponsiveness to initial IVIG therapy and coronary artery dilatation (CAD; defined by Z-score≥2.5) in ...
